Spring

Our cute Boy!
Being with Daddy!
Jonathan loves balls!

I just love Spring! It is almost here, today is great and yesterday was great weather also! Jonathan just loves to be outside! This past week Dave was working in the yard outside and Jonathan was outside with him. He just loved it! We have gotten out the wagon and have gone on walks lately and Jonathan loves it also. He just loves being outside, and he loves to wake to people he see!

Happy St Patrick's Day

Brother and Sister! This is another picture I took today! Sarah in her green!
This past week Dave was fixing the computer and Jonathan wanted to help!
I know this is a wried picture to post, but we went to Chili's and at the end Jonathan was plying with the sugar packets, and I guess he snuck a few packets in without me seeing.
So Jonathan isn't standing or walking yet, but he is a smart boy! So Jonathan has figured out how to climb up on his bike then on the white container and get things that are on top of the black container. He thinks that he is pretty cool that he can do this. He loves to climb! We are having PEEP (people from the city came and evaluate him and see if there is anything that they can do to help him out with!) come and work with Jonathan.
Aren't they cute!
Happy St Patrick's Day! I usually make Corn Beef and Cabbage on St Patty's, but we had it yesterday at my parents, so I am going to make it later this week. We only have it once a year! So instead I made split pea soup- I thought that was a good Green dinner!
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit- so I decided to take some pictures. Jonathan wanted to get on Grandpas lap but by the time that I was ready to take the pictures he was done! This post is just random things from this past week!
This is Grandma Harris's first time meeting Sarah, we were happy that she came and saw us! She enjoyed holding Sarah and of course Sarah enjoyed sleeping. Sarah is wearing a cute outfit Grandma Harris gave her. Thanks!
Below is Sarah doing tummy time. She doesn't mind tummy time which is new for me. After about 10-15 minutes she is done. She is very strong. I also think that she looks a lot like Abby here! I m going to do a post pictures of Dave and I when we were little- and see who Sarah looks like the most!
So it really didn't turn out- but this is a picture of what Luke and Lacey decided to do to our new clean car (we never wash it and we decided to a few days before). We were getting ready to go and Luke and Lacey decided to through dirt on are car- they didn't touch theirs. Papa got after them!!!

Each Child is Different!

Well, I was told this a lot growing up, which I know is true. But today I just came to that realization once again. Jonathan and Sarah are so different- in so much size, temperaments, eating patterns, sleep patterns, growing patterns. Well, it hit me today. I was at my Mom's (it is a weekday and she is home- cause of her procedure- everyone was loving it. The Grandkids, Kristi, and I) we were on Mom's bed talking and holding Sarah. Kristi was holding Sarah trying to make her smile. Then I was holding her and she was smiling and looking at me. And then I realized that she knew my voice. She has started to be more interactive each day and I love it. Now remember she is only 1 month old almost 5 weeks this week. This was different with Jonathan. He was slow with everything just cause his size and being born early. So it is so much fun to have Sarah interacting a lot earlier. Another thing is Jonathan is a slower grower as you all now. He is in the same clothes for months on end. He has been in the same gap pants for oh I would say at least 9 months. Now at my baby shower for Jonathan- there was advice given to make sure that you wear an outfit, a lot cause they will grow out of it fast. Well, I didn't really believe that cause Jonathan is wearing out clothes cause he is in them so long. Well, Sarah is so different in this matter. She has worn this one cute outfit once and she is wearing today, and she might have one more time before she is grown out of it. Some of you might not know but I do cloth diapers and I have been having problems with Sarah leaking through them- which is not common for me. Well, I was talking to my Sister and Mom today- and they helped me realize that she is out grown them. I don't want her to grow that fast cause then my baby won't be a baby for long. Such as life! Got to go Sarah is calling!

Smiles

So is adorable!
finger nails and I have tried to clip them- but during her nap she scratched herself! Sad (its gone now)
I had to put one on with her cute bow that Kristi made!
Well, on Tuesday Sarah has started to smile- it is so cute. I love it. So I have been trying to caputre it!

Wax All Over!

The mess!
No more red candles!
This is how close I could get Jonathan to the mess, he knew that he didn't something bad. He got mad when I tried to put him close to the mess! Then I picked him up, and I said uh-oh pointing to the mess, and then he said it. It made me laugh!
I think that it cleaned up pretty good!
So this morning, I did the usual got up changed diapers then feed Sarah- while Jonathan played in the family room. Then Jonathan ate and I was eating. Jonathan was done, and I was cutting my grapefruit. I had already shut all doors so that he couldn't get into anything. Then I hear this drop and thing tricking- like water. I ran into the entry, and we have a candle in the that is on hot plate. Jonathan must have pulled on the plate or pushed the candle. There was wax everywhere- an did I mention that it was red! I gave a big sigh and picked up Jonathan and a picture that was in the wax. I then within a few minutes, Kristi called and asked if she could come and get Jonathan. It was like a heaven sent- thanks Kristi. I was trying to decide how I was going to clean this up with Jonathan around. So I let it dry and then I finally cleaned it up. It took about a half an hour- I wasn't sure how it was going to clean up. But it did great- and now I have the scooba on the floor mopping! Sarah is in the sling, falling asleep! It all turned out!

Life

Jonathan loves to see what we are cooking at dinner and be right there. So we have been putting a chair by the counter and Jonathan is in Heaven. Daddy and Jonathan getting dinner ready!
Sarah at night wants to be held, and doesn't like to be in her crib till late. So that I can get some cleaning done. I put her in this handy-dandy sling. It is so nice!

So I am trying to be a good Mom and put past my feeling about pink and being really girly! Isn't she so cute! This is Sarah two Sundays ago, it was her first time in a dress. I usually put her in a sack! She was so cute- with her bow (thanks Kristi), bracelet (thanks Mom), tights, and a cute dress.

Uh-Oh

So Jonathan has learned a new word- UH-OH. He says it all the time now! He says it when it is not in context and also when he should. When he drops something and then he says it. It just makes me laugh!
Sarah is doing okay she has some congestion so it is hard for here to breath. So I have to suction her and she hates it! She hardly ever cries, but when I suction her she has a mad little cry! Yesterday we went to the doctors and Sarah was 10 lbs 2 oz and is in the 89%. She is a healthy baby! Well, we were waiting for the doctor to come we weighted Jonathan and he was 17 lbs 10 oz- watch out Jonathan your sister is going to caught you in no time! No, but I was happy to see that Jonathan was 17 lbs cause last appointment he had only gained 5 oz in 3 months.
Thanks Kristi for taking Jonathan this morning! Wednesdays are always a long day for me. Cause Dave is gone from the early morning till late evening! So any little break helps. Sarah loves to be held for a long time before she goes down in her crib, so I would lay with her. But then I wouldn't sleep well, and then that leads to a tried Shirlene and then that leads to Shirlene having breakdowns. So in order to alleviate that Dave will hold Sarah while he studies at night. That helps so much! Thanks sweetie for all your help!

Learning

Jonathan loves to hold Sarah for a minute- he gets very excited and tries to be gentle. But we are still working with him! Sarah is very patent with Jonathan ! Jonathan giving Sarah a hug! Mommy and Sarah!
Sweet Sarah, she continues to be a great baby. She loves Mommy to hold her. She eats great and sleep good. This picture above I thought was so sweet, as she is sleeping on my chest- her hand is by he mouth!

This is Jonathan playing on the bouncy chair. He loves to play on it. This past week. He got on it and put the blanket over his head and anted to play peek a boo. It was way funny!

So Jonathan and Mommy are learning together. I try to keep all the

doors closed when i m feeding Sarah cause it is very difficult to get Jonathan if he decides to get into something. Well, yesterday morning I ws feeding Sarah and I forgot to close the pantry door. So of course Jonathan wanted to explore. I have a 25 bag of flour in the pantry and he decided to get about 1/2 cup to 1 cup out of the bag. He got it all over the floor and himself. I think that he was hungry himself cause he started to taste it. Well, Jonathan does seem to be getting into more since I am not right there. But, he is doing better then last week. So I am sure it will get better with time!

We have been working with Jonathan on folding his arms during prayers and it just seems like he is caughting on. This morning I was playing with Jonathan in his room and I was asking him if he wanted to go down the slide. then all of the sudden he folded his arms like we were going to say a prayer so we did. I guess he got confused cause he usually plays on his slide before he goes to bed and we usually pray before he goes to bed. nyways I thought that it is very cute and he is a very smart boy! I will try to post of picture of him praying!

Life with two!

Brother and Sister
This is Jonathan's favorite past time right now! He loves to climb and sit on the stepping stool!
Sweet Sarah- doesn't she look so cute in her new outfit!
So you probaly can't tell what this is a picture of, but it is a picture of our floor after Sarah vomited. Now if I didn't have the scooba I would have been upset cause we mopped the night before. But I wasn't I just put the scooba out and it cleaned the floor while I held Sarah!
Well, we are still trying to adjust to life with 2. But I thought that I would update you on how things are going thus far! Well, Sarah is such a good baby. She seems to sleep a good 6 hrs during the night. Last night she slept from 12 till 8 (and I woke her up at 8 to feed). She is very patent and calm, and doesn't cry a lot. She eats very good however, there are times that she eats to much and we seem to have projectile vomit. Which I am not use to at all, snice Jonathan hardly eat! She is so sweet, and we love to hold her! It is fun to have a little girl in our family! I am trying to be a good Mom and put bows in her hair and make her look cute when we go out (whihc seems to be to my parents or church thus far). I feel so blest to have Sarah in our home she is such a sweet spirit!
Jonathan is trying to adjust to life with a new sister! He gets excited at times and wants to touch her (he is still learning to be gentle). He seems to want to be held a lot more, and he cuddles a lot more. He seems to wake up early every morning since I have come home from the hospital. I am trying to figure out why- I am not sure if he knows that he can get 1 on 1 time. There does seem like a lot more crying. He loves to go to Grammies and Papas- to get more attention! He like to play in the bouncy chair, and be like Sarah!
Mom and Dave are adjusting to the new sleep pattern, once again! I have attempted dinner in the crockpot, since Dave is home from school!

It's a GIRL!!!!

Our Sweet Baby Girl!
This is Sarah 2 days old!
Our new Family!
Getting ready to go home, she is such a sweet baby!
So, for those of you who didn't know Shirlene had the baby Thursday the 7th at about 3:45 p.m. in the afternoon. She was in labor from Monday with light contractions that built into full heavy labor on Wednesday. Her membranes were striped Wednesday afternoon and from then on she was in some serious pain. At about 10:45 p.m. we went into the hospital and she was admitted at 12:15. (Thank goodness for the epidural) 17 hours later Sarah Shirlene Harris was born. She weighed in at 8 lbs 15 oz (half Jonathans weight) and measured 19.5 inches. Both mom and baby are doing great! Shirlene is happy to report that Sarah does not look completely like me. (As that was a big concern of hers) They both should be coming home on Saturday Afternoon. I'm looking forward to having them both home again. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Special thanks to the Kumps & Petersons for their help with Jonathan. Another special thanks to Dr. Wolsey for his patience with Shirlene and I through this pregnancy. Pictures will be posted tomorrow.

15 Months

This morning Jonathan, Mom, Dad and I went to the Mall to walk. Well, we were there Kiddy Kandids asked us if we wanted a free 8X10. I said we might came back. Well, we went around the corner and then I decided to do it. (Good thing I gave Jonathan a bath this morning, and he was looking cute!) Jonathan did great and we got this picture, even with sepia for free! It was great! I needed a 15 Month pic of Jonathan.

Ladybug Nursery

I have been working on my little girls Ladybug nursery for a while now. I am almost done with it, and I think that it turned out so cute! Dave painted the walls yellow (this is so the nursery can go girl or boy in the future!). I color scheme is red, black, and a touch of yellow! I love red. So there is an assortment of didn't patterns in the bumper and quilt, with a lot of different polka dots to help the theme of ladybug continue! There were some that were skeptical that it wasn't girly enough- but at the end of the project everyone loves it (Dave is very proud of our nursery). I added a touch of bows throughout to bring in the girlyness. I have purchased a ladybug rug to make the theme continue through the room. Having a girl is making me stretch in ways that I have never stretched before. So I will keep you posted on how things are going!!

Marcie here is the recipe that you wanted. We had this at sister's weekend and Marcie was craving it. Liz said I should blog it, so here it is!

A funny story!

Jonathan is a social little boy! He loves to be with his cousins! He tries to so what ever they are doing. Well, I know that Luke can't wait till Jonathan can play with him even more. Yesterday, we were at my parents for Sunday dinner. Jonathan was playing with the kids and then he was on Papa's lap. Then we hear a loud cry from Lukey. Kristi asks him what is the matter, he says (while he is crying) Jonathan told me NO! I busted up, my food almost came out of my mouth. I look at Jonathan and he is as content as can be on Papa' lap. But the funny thing is that Jonathan doesn't even talk yet!

Love and Excitement!

Well, for Christmas Dave got me a scooba- it is amazing! I love it! If you don't know what it is, it is robot that sweeps and mops at the same time. I put it on my list, not thinking that I would get it! But, I did I was so surprised. Dave got a awesome deal on it at woot.com (they have great deals everyday of something new!) My brother got one and they said they watched it while it mopped the first time cause it is amazing how it does it! I use it every other day- it makes me so happy to have a clean floor! It would be like once a month getting the floor mopped (gross I know!), but now it is every other day! It is wonderful!
Last week I had one of those tender mercy experience that Heavenly Father gave to me. Jonathan is a normal little boy that loves to explore, not much cuddling comes from him (He gives hugs and kisses but no cuddling). Well, I was getting Jonathan ready for bed, I gave him a bath. After, the bath he was way cold so I bundled him up and held him. I was able to keep cuddling with him. So I read and sang to him- and he just let me hold him as long as I wanted. So I hummed to him, as we waited for Daddy to some home from work! Jonathan feel asleep before Daddy got home and so when Dad got home he took a picture of us. It was a sweet moment that I had with Jonathan and just cherished it as he slept in my arms!

Time Flies!

This is on Christmas Eve at Grammy's and Papa's. Jonathan is clapping- they all look so cute!
Jonathan and Great Great Grandma! Jonathan loves to go over to my parents cause there is lots of Grandparents that come in and out- he loves getting attention!
This is Jonathan on his new slide. He wasn't sure about it at first. He wasn't sure how to get down. Now he loves climbing what ever way he can, to get up the slide!
This is Jonathan trying to get to the light to turn it off, he has discovered light switches and always wants to turn them off or on. After, he turns the switch off he has to look around to see if it did anything! He is a smart little boy!
Dad was working on his room and Jonathan was just content on the step stool and watching cars or what ever is outside. He loves to look outside when ever he can. For Christmas he got a new car seat and he enjoys rides a little bit more now that he can see a little bit better!
I have been informed that it has been last year since I have blogged! So I am finally making time to blog. It seems, as of late, that I have so many things to do and projects to finish in a short time. That blogging has been put on the back burner! So I will just update with what is going on in our family with the pictures that we have been taking!
