Our Bug

The other night I told Jonathan to go get his hat cause I had one on and he wanted on, and this is what he came out with!
Helping Mom in the garden!
Jonathan had found this hat that Grandpa and Grandma gave him and he likes to wear it. This one night before going to bed. He put on his sandals and hat, it made me laugh!
Lunch
Playing on the playground after lunch!
Playing at Papa's. I love how he lined up all the cars.

Playing with Lindy Willis, one of his friends!
Jonathan and Sarah after pouring the powder everywhere!
Now an update on Jonathan. Jonathan keeps me on toes. Jonathan loves to be independent and do things on his own. It is nice at times, I can tell him go get your shoes and he will go get them and put them on. But sometimes it is not so nice when I am in a hurry Jonathan wants to take his sweet time and say "Onathan do it". Jonathan is a very curious boy, and interested in everything you are doing, but the thing is he will ask you over and over again what you are doing. It helps me to be patient and answer him because I want him to know he can ask me questions and I will answer them, even when he is older and the questions really matter. Jonathan is a very big helper, and he loves to help. He is very good when I give him a certain task, and he understands what I am saying, he will do it. It is also now, I can tell Jonathan to play with his little people farm when I need to get dinner ready or dishes done, and he will go ply with it. It help me so much, cause then he will call Sarah over and she will play a good amount of time. Jonathan loves to pick toy out or a bin of toys for quiet time and play until he is ready to fall asleep. However, bedtime isn't that easy. He has a hard time falling asleep even when he is dead tried and will play and rearrange everything in his room. This one morning he woke up with a completely different set of pjs on. I didn't realize tell that afternoon, when i was picking up his room. It made me laugh, and also realize that Jonathan cane dress himself if he wants too. Jonathan loves to go to school each week. In the summer at the school they serve lunch to children 0-18, which is a federally funded program, Jonathan loves to be big and hold his lunch tray and eat with the big kids. I love it cause it is free, I don't have to figure out what I am fixing for lunch and then they can play on the playground. Jonathan is still going potty on the toilet, but I just don't push it cause I don't think he is completely ready. Jonathan loves to read books, and when he goes to time out in his room and when I come to get him most of the time he is looking at a book. It is very cute. Jonathan loves to go to church and esp nursery. There are kids in his class he knows by name like Ashby and Eden. Which is kind of funny cause those are the two he argues the most with. Jonathan loves to say prayer. Jonathan loves to have cereal in the mornings for breakfast. Jonathan is eating better all the time, although he is still in the same clothes 18 month pants (the cloth diaper helps keep them on) and 18 shirts. Jonathan if full of energy and life. We love you Jonathan!

Blueberries is like...

CANDY!
In LOVE!
Enjoying blueberries

I purchase most of my produce at a local market that has pretty good prices! I usually only buy whats on sale. This past week blueberries have been on sale, and Jonathan and Sarah tried a few and they were in LOVE with them! Sarah act like it is candy and she almost eat a half of pint all by herself one afternoon! This morning I was putting the blueberries into my yogurt and the kids of course wanted some!

Being an awesome Dad!

I worked yesterday so Dave decided to take the kids out on an outing. They went to the children's museum, since to have a pass. From the pictures he took, I gathered that they had lots of fun. There are always new thing to find and discover. They love to be with Daddy, and he even treated them to McDonald's!
Man I love this cute face!

Jonathan and Sarah spent a lot of time in the play house (this is all what Dave told me). Jonathan loves the kitchen!

Within the house there is a mouse hole where there is a mouse house, the kids loved looking at it!

On the horse!
Look, Dad I brought a fish at the store!
Jonathan saw this picture and he told me, Piano Mommy. So he thought he was playing the piano like Mommy!
Playing in the birdhouse!

My Sarah

Grandma gave her this flower yesterday cause Sarah wanted a flower so bad she just kept reaching for one. So Grandma found on she could have. The entire was home she held it tight, and right when we got home Jonathan pulled it away from Sarah. But Sarah collected the flower petals and held them tight. It was so precious!

"Playing" Jonathan's way!

Washing Hands!

I just love them video! It might just make me laugh and think Sarah is so cute, but that okay! Prior to me taping she was giving kisses, but while taping she was just giving "loves" to her dolly. I know it is a sad Dolly, but it works for now!

I have been feeling like I need to do an update on Sarah and Jonathan- so her is Sarah's. So is becoming such a big girl. She wants to be big like her brother. Such as Jonathan is working on Potty Training so Sarah will climb onto the stool and so the hand washing sign (I think it is adorable, it makes me laugh). Or when Jonathan is getting candy after going potty, Sarah think that she should get some too. Sarah loves to play the piano while Mom is practice, but she thinks that she is so big. She loves Jonathan, however she is so patience with him I am so amazing. The picture above is the aftermath of Jonathan pouring baby powder on Sarah. Sarah actually thought that it was fun and she was laughing! Sarah has learned to hold her own the past little while because Jonathan will take almost anything away from her if she is playing with it. So in self defense she will try to bit him, which seems to do the trick (However most of the time she just threatens him with it- but doesn't actually bite). Sarah loves to give "loves" to her dolls, Lavette, Mommy, Daddy, Jonathan, Grammy, and Papa. I love it. Sarah continues to HATE the car seat, it is always a struggle. Sarah loves to wave and say hi to people- she is a very friendly girl. Sarah enjoys eating and has done so much better since I weaned her of nursing. Sarah has just qualified for the early education program in our city. I am thankful for the program because I know that Jonathan grew so much being in the program. She made it in with her lack of standing and walking abilities. Sarah is such a strong willed girl, I know she could stand or walk a little bit. But most of the time she gets upset if I work with her on it and just wants to crawl. I know in due time is will happen. Sarah also made it in with speech or the lack of expressive speech. She signs different words, but she is about maybe four words. I think she is learning Pa pa but it is hard to tell! Sarah is so much fun, we just love our Sarah!

Happy Fathers Day!

Breakfast in Bed
This is how cute my Husband is! Dave was getting Sarah dressed. I never thought that he would attempt her hir. I was out in the front area of the house and I just keep hearing "I tried, I tried" I come to see Sarah's hair like this. It just made me laugh, he picked out the bow and everything on his own! What a good Daddy! I love you sweetie!
They loved his tie!
Happy Fathers Day! I made a breakfast in bed for Dave. Jonathan was right there with me to bring it in and he loved it. Jonathan made this tie for Daddy! It was way cute! Daddy was a sport and took pictures in his tie! Dave is such a great Daddy! They love to spend time with Daddy and love that they have certain days with Daddy! Thank you for all that you do for our family!
I am thankful for my Father, who is such a great Dad! I am thankful for how giving he is and always trying to support me and our family. He is such a great Papa. I took this picture a while back that Papa was playing in the backyard with about at least 8 grand kids and he was chasing them and pushing them on the swings! He is such a great Papa- Jonathan would agree with that one!

My Tri

Yesterday, I did my first tri after having Jonathan and Sarah I was very nervous and not sure if I was fit enough to do it! However things went great! It was so nice cause it was just down the street from our house. I rode my bike there.
This is arriving at the TRI
The kids had to wake up early, and you can tell by there faces!
Walking over to the group meeting to discuss the course. When they were discussing the swim, I thought it looked longer then I previously remember. But it was nice we biked in our neighborhood, and the run was right around the park!
Right before getting in the cold water!
That's me in the blue cap!
Seeing Dave in the water. The hardest part of the tri is the swim part. With that said, there were three buoys that I had to pass and getting to the first buoy I panic a little and was unsure of if I could do it, I also got a little light headed. But, after passing the the first orange buoy and seeing where the end was I was okay. With swimming in open water you have to check yourself every few strokes to make sure that you are heading in the right direction!
My official cheerleaders, along with Grammy, Papa and Jonathan!
Doing my best!
Finally Done
Striping off my wetsuit, and preparing to go into my bike leg!
The transition area!
So cute!
The Bike leg! During the bike leg there was a girl that I kept racing back and forth. She would try to pass me and then I would pass her. Well, in the transition from Bike to Run. She beat me out to the run cause she didn't have to change her shoes. But I soon caught up to her and passed her on the run. Below is me passing her!
It was fun to see all my "Cheerleaders" throughout the course. It made me happy. It also felt good to be challenged physically and to be a little competitive in passing people on the bike and run!
Finishing!
I did better then I thought I would!

Jonathan missed me and wanted to right after I was done!

After the race I rode back home, I felt good but very tried! Dave is going to do one next year, which I am very excited for. We loved this one cause it was so close- during the bike leg my Grandparents cheered me on I loved it! Thanks everyone for all your support!

Potty Training

Jonathan started awhile back telling us he had to go potty! It was a shock and a surprise to us. I thought honestly he would be 3 or 4 years old ( since he was a late walker I just thought he would be late in potty training). Well that is not the case. Jonathan is about 90% potty trained in pooh. Which I actually really like because we do cloth diapers and it is one less diaper to rinse! Jonathan is great at dumping his pee and pooh into the toilet (with my assistance). However pee is a different story. I started rewarding him with stickers at the start and he like it but it really didn't excite him. But this past week I had a mint and Jonathan wanted one of course. So I thought and then told Jonathan if you got potty then you can get candy it worked! SO ever since then I have been giving him a chocolate chip or left over Easter jelly bean with each successful attempt to go potty and if he is unsuccessful then he gets a sticker. Well, I am not sure if if is not totally ready to be out of diapers. But, I have him go prior to naps and bedtime. However for the most part his diaper is wet when he wakes up. So I am not sure what to do or make of it. Any suggestions would be great! So in the end it probably will be 3 years old when he is successful potty trained! But at least we are making a lot of progress in my book!

Summer Vacation 2009
This past week our family went on vacation with my family up to the Lake. We left late on Monday night. On Tuesday we had some good weather in the morning so we played in the sand at the Lake, however it was still very cold. We were wrapped in towels as we watched the kids play. When we were walking up to go swimming at the pool Jonathan was freezing, I am glad that I brought a sweater for him to keep warm. Jonathan wanted to mainly be in the hot tub- but it was way HOT to be in it for a kid let alone be an adult. Sarah wasn't too sure about the water she was just fine being held then in the water! We played card games while the kids played and Sarah was down for a nap! It was nice to just relax.
The next day it was rainy and so we decided to go to the Minnetonka Caves. I remember going as a kid. It was lots of fun and a lot of steps. Kristi braved being 8 months pregnant. Jonathan was on my back and Sarah was on Dave's. It was cold in the cave, but not much different then outside of the cave. Jonathan was concerned with me and would ask if I was okay when going down or up steep stairs. We are defiantly glad that we decided to go to he caves. That afternoon we went to Craig and Liz's indoor pool (which was a life safer). The water was warm and it was fun to swim together. Jonathan loved to be in the water. Sarah was very scared, but then she calmed down and started to love it. Jason brought these syringes and they were so much fun to have water fights with. That night we had a BLAST playing games. Jeff was on something and we were playing curses. We all laughed so much. Craig even came over and played and it was fun to play with him also.
The next day it was raining again so we decided to go to the indoor swimming pool. Dave went to study and I went with the kids to the pool. But I didn't get in cause the chlorine content was very high and I am sensitive to chlorine. So Sarah and Jonathan enjoyed Grammy and Marcie playing with them in the pool. Grammy was playing humpty dumpty with them, Jonathan wasn't sure after awhile with it. But Sarah was a fish, she did great. After swimming we went to get pizza at a local pizza place. It was good food and fun to eat and talk. After we went and got some treats next door; the fudge was great and Jonathan loved his chocolate treat- Sarah had a bite. The weather was turning nice so we decided to some stores and do some window shopping. Then we headed back to the condo and did a nature scavenger hunt. The kids loved it and it was fun to get out. Jonathan then went to the playground, although it was really wet on the playground. That night it was a HARD night and it was time to go home.
The next morning we packed up and went home. It was overall a nice vacation. It was nice to be together as a family. It was fun to have Marcie and Jeff here in town. We did miss Leslie and Dan, but we were glad most of the kids could come and have fun! It was a nice family reunion!
