Sarah's ideas on Santa

Today I went running a in the mid day! I dropped Jonathan off at my parents and pushed Sarah and Gordon in the jogging stroller. Sarah wanted to run with me. Ever since I ran my race Sarah has wanted to run with me!! Love it. Well today she ran to different stretches and I think that she is getting better! She told me that she was tried, hot, and phew! :)

Well, it is very enjoyable to run with Sarah she just talks about whatever she is thinking about and also entertains Gordon! Well she just started to talk about Santa! With the best sentences or word she could she talked about him. "Love him" "Santa my friend" "Santa bring Candy" "Santa scared of him" "Love him" "My Friend"

Sarah can't make up her mind if she is scared of Santa or loves him! :)

Leaves are Falling all around!

These pictures just capture the the pure joy that they are having!

Dave raked the leaves in a pile and the kids just loved it! It was rather cold evening, but they didn't care! But after, the first thing Sarah told me was "Hot Coco".

Preschool

This past Tuesday I was encharge of our co op preschool! It was a lot of fun! We learned about the Real Thanksgiving story and about turkeys! They worked on this project, and each of them worked so hard to complete it!

No Police officers or Fireman!

This past week I had a conversation with Jonathan!

We were out running errands, going from place to place. Jonathan is usually good at bucling up when he gets in so I don't really have to check up on him, Sarah is a different story! We were going to get gas at Costco coming from the copy center!

Jonathan: {well in the mall parking lot} Oh Mom, I forgot to buckle up!

Mom: Well you bet buckle up!

Jonathan: But I don't see any police officers or fireman!

Mom: Is that the reason we buckle up {straight face}

Jonathan: No to be safe in an accident. But if we do then I will just hold onto the seat belt!

The logic for my little boy!:)

GG Funeral!

The first weekend in November we were able to go up to GG funeral! Dave's schedule got rearranged last minute and we were able to go up as a family! We left very early on Saturday and made it up for the viewing! Jonathan and Sarah just stood in front of the casket and just wouldn't leave! It was the hardest on Sarah, she just loved GG. The day before I was talking to Jonathan and Sarah that we were going to see GG body, but Sarah didn't understand and started to jump up and down. Yeah, GG house. So on Friday night we had a small little family home evening about what happens when we die and where GG spirit goes. Jonathan was able to grasp it, but little Sarah just didn't understand. That night she cried herself to sleep.

The funeral and viewing was so nice. Grandma did a great job, and I loved hearing stories of GG. It was VERY cold at the graveside. So we didn't stay too long, but Sarah won't leave she wanted to stay next to GG. She finally was way too cold and said she would go. She rode back with Uncle Lloyd in the Hurst and she was just excited about that.

We feel so blessed to have known GG for so long. She was 93 year old when she died. And I know that it was a privilege for my children to know there Great Great Grandma! And we are thankful that we can be so close to Grandma and Grandpa so that my children can know and love them so well! I am so thankful for my wonderful family!

Activity Days!

This past Friday night, the Activity Days Leaders put on a Daddy Daughter Dance for the 8-11 year old girls in our ward! it was so much fun black and white theme with even a red carpet! It was so fun to see the girls having fun! One of the best part of the night was when Emma pulled her Dad onto the dance floor (no else was dancing yet) and started dancing with her Dad standing on his feet! They talked and dance and enjoyed each, I almost was in tears as I watched- as I thought about my little Sarah and her Dad get to come and enjoy each others companion! What a fun night for everyone involved!

This is how we really felt, with our wonderful husbands!

Back in August Kristi asked me if I wanted to do a half with her, I wanted to think about it and I really wanted to do it with Dave! Well, at first Dave said yes and we started training and for one reason or other Dave pulled out (which made me sad). But, I kept training and I was determined to do it with Kristi! So Kristi and I printed out a schedule and we kept each other on track! I really enjoyed training with Kristi even though we never ran together it was fun to text each other about our runs and how we were doing! Well, the training seemed long, 12 weeks long, and we were glad that the day finally came!

We picked up our packets and that was a mess in its self. We had to be at the bus to be transported to the start at 6 am and the race didn't start till 9 am. Well, Dave volunteered to take us up there to the start! I was so thankful for that!! Well, it was really cold when we got there but they had a heated tent for the runners. There was tons of people, but it was fun- music/Halloween contests!
Well, it finally was time to go to the start! Kristi and I started together and it was about 6 mile decline. It was fast down hill, at one point I told Kristi our pace and mentally I could tell see couldn't handle it. So I told her I wouldn't tell her anymore! Well, we got to the bottom to cross the onto the other side of the canyon and they stopped us! I have never been stopped in a race before, especially when we weren't going slow. Well, that killed our momentum. Kristi had a hard time starting back up so we kept together for another mile or so and then we split up. It was very hard race with the down hill so steep for so long. I felt it in my calfs and in my thighs everytime I went down or up at all.

By mile 11 I was ready to be done. So I had about a 1/2 mile left and I picked a lady that was listening to some mental encouragement to come with me. We took it in together which always helps me! Well, the finish line strech seemed to go on forever. But finally I saw my cute Jonathan and Dave! And I was almost done! I did it!

I finished! It was good to be done and I soon after felt the effects of the race. I am glad I did it with Kristi. I took a week off to let my body recover and tomorrow I will start running again.
