Life

These are some pictures of this last week, and they seem to be all of Sarah! Oh well, that is just how it is! Some weeks it is more pictures of Jonathan then Sarah!
Sarah absolutely loves watermelon, she must take after her Mom!!
This past week my Mom and I were able to Met up with a great friend of ours that we grew up with in California. Oh how I miss Kirsti!! It was great to talk with her and see where the Lord has has directed her paths. It was a good reminder that we all have different paths we are supposed to take, each id different, one is not better then the other just different! It is wonderful to see how she is doing good in New York and making a difference out there! The kids loved her! Sarah wanted to be held by her and wanted to continually touch her with her gross hands! Jonathan picked up her name way fast, it may help that we have a cousin named Kirsten. We ate lunch at the MOA, after we looked at some exhibits and if Kirsti wasn't moving as fast as Jonathan wanted he would say "Come here, Kirsten". It was way fun to see you Kirsti!

Sarah loves to be nakey, and she recently has found a new toy she like!
Sarah is growing up so much, I really don't think that she is almost 18 months old since she isn't walking it just makes me think that she is still little. But then I caught glances of her when she is actually walking she just looks like a big toddler! Sarah is doing more and more walking which is great! I try to encourage her to walk and not carry her, cause she just loves to be carried! Sarah is starting to sign more, she has made up her own sign for birdy. She is starting to say a few more words such as : hi, Dada, Mama (but she is actually directing them to us), she is getting the P syllable for Papa. It is coming! I need to help her with more sign words cause she just gets frustrated when she can't communicate and just squeals! Her hair is getting so blonde these days and way long in the back!
We are finally getting tomatoes out of our garden, little by little, and I totally forgot how amazing fresh grown tomatoes are! We are continually painting and almost half way done and getting better with each section! Happy Birthday Sweetie!! I have a wonderful husband that works so hard for our family and is working today. He is also, willing to pint on his Birthday! We are celebrating on Saturday, but I have a few surprises for him when he gets home! When I asked him what he wanted for his Birthday, he said he just wanted a Happy wife and kids!! Well, I guess he got one present already! We got an early present, this past weekend one of the mangers at Costco told Dave that after his student teaching was done he would have a job at Costco when he is done! We don't know all the details of it, but that is okay we just wanted a job to help pay the bills! With how the economy is it is a major blessing. A while back we fasted that we could keep Dave's job during student teaching, after the fast we both were at peace that everything would work out. Then the weeks to follow they just didn't seem to be working with him, and we both got very frustrated because we were losing a lot besides his job. But now we know that there is a job waiting for him maybe not in the pharmacy, but Heavenly Father can see the big picture and he is blessing us little by little, and helping us put different pieces into the puzzle!
I love this clip, I just think it is way cute, when they enjoy each other and play together! (Prior to taping Jonathan was helping Sarah all by himself without us saying that anything!

Family Vacation

This past week our family went on our family vacation! We headed up To Idaho, Oregon and then to Washington. It was a lot of fun, but also very exhausting at the same time! Sarah and Jonathan did surprisingly very well in the car overall!
Wednesday night we headed to my great Grandma's to help with the drive to Boardmen OR. It was nice to visit with great grandma and Connie. We enjoyed enjoyed a hot breakfast, thanks so much Aunt Connie! And then we were on our way! I am not into watching lots of TV, so I really didn't want to get portable DVD players esp since Sarah won't even watch it. But they pretty much entertained themselves one way or the other. Jonathan loved to try to make the trucks honk, and would remind me when we passed one. Sarah enjoying fidgeting with blankets or anything she could get her hands on. We stopped for a picnic on the boarder of Oregon, it was nice for the kids to run around and be out of the car. Then we got back on the road, it was long and hot and not very exciting scenery. We enjoyed Le Grande nice pine trees, we stopped to play at Mc Donalds and get some ice cream. Then off to Pendleton OR, we stopped at the Pendleton Wool factory, but we missed the tours to see the factory (I was sad).

Then we finally got to Boardmen that was right on the Columbia River. We loved our lodge, it was nice and spacious, and the view was great! When we got there we went down to the river, and Jonathan loved throwing rocks! Then we Grammy Papa, Grandma and Grandpa got there we went to a Mexican restaurant, it was a very small town about three places to eat! But the food was great and it was a good choice. We went swimming that night, which cooled us off!
Our cute family at the lodge.
The next day we decided to go the long way to get to Yakima Wa and decided to do a little site seeing! We headed to the Multnomah Falls! We loved that area it was so beautiful! We stopped at a little waterfall first and then the big one! We saw the Dalles, Mt Hood, Went through Portland, saw Mt St Helen, and Mt Rainer on the way to the Reunion!
That night we set up and had a weiny roast. I was so hot so we all got in the canoe to explore the Lake. It was beautiful! Jonathan didn't last very long and was done. So we took him back to Grammy and Papa. Then we went back out with Sarah. After a bit she become fearless and wanted to stand and touch the water. So we brought her back in, and then Jonathan wanted to get back in. It was so nice on the lake and it sure cooled us off! We got the kids down, and they slept good but woke up early.
Getting in!

The next morning we ate a wonderful breakfast! Then we had a race around the camp. It was fun to race, Jonathan was not happy to be left with Papa and not race. But after the runner they had walkers so Jonathan was happy to do little runs to Papa on our walk. I won for my age division 20+ (however there was only two of us and the other lady was closer to my Mom's age). Dave came in second!
We enjoyed hiking, playing around, going to the lake to swim, the wonderful food, and getting to know Grandpa side better. There are so many people that I have never met so it was good to met them and get to know them a little better! We had a little talent show on Saturday night, which Dave played the violin and our family sang Pokey Bear with Papa (upon Jonathan's request). Jonathan just loves to be the center of attention and it seems to be magnified when he is tried. Jonathan is adored by so many with his red hair, friendly personality, and his pettiness. The teenage girl love him, but Jonathan was attached to Savannah by the end; he called her "Bana". So we had to get a picture of them together! By the end the kids were getting really tried, on Sunday morning Jonathan feel asleep during testimony meeting and slept for four hour until I woke him up!
These are Grandpa's siblings with there spouses (there are 3 that have past on). It was great to met some of Grandpa sibling's for the first time. They have such a large family, I only know a handful. During testimony meeting it was nice to hear stories about our heritage and how loving and faithful my Great Grandparents were! I never met my great Grandpa, but I know that he was a strong great man like my Grandpa. I knew my Great Grandma a little as a child. Being there made me more thankful for my wonderful heritage that were wonderful faithful members of the gospel, forgiving, loving, welcoming, humorous. It was also good to hear that there were certain things that we did growing up that I thought was just our family, but it was part of our heritage that my Grandpa's family did! We always were there on time for church, and tried to be early and then we stayed talking to everyone and were almost always that last ones to leave. It was funny to hear that from some of my Great Aunts. It was a well planned reunion and Dave and I were glad that we went!
Mt Rainer was fairly close to were we were!
On the way home we stayed went to Boise and stayed the night, it was a long drive and we were very excited to get there when we did! The next morning we went to a children's science museum (since it was free with our membership from the children's museum in SLC). It was interesting, I think Dave and I got more out of it. But there were a few exhibits that the kids really enjoyed. They had shopping for food there, and I could find Jonathan for a few minutes and that is where he was at! I was anxious to get home, so we stayed for a little while. The ride home was probably the hardest; but I have learned that ice cream sure makes everyone happy (and messy)! It was nice to get away from the normal routine things of life!

Joesph is here!

Kristi had her sweet baby boy on Monday. I was able to be at the delivery. My job description was photographer and ice giver! Birth is amazing!! I saw some deliveries in nursing school, but it isn't the same when you are not up there close and personal, and it wasn't your sister I just didn't feel that bond before. Kristi is an amazing pusher, she pushed him out in about 25 minutes (which I think that is awesome)! I followed taking pictures of Joesph till he had to go to the NICU to help him with his breathing! Thank you so much Kristi and Jason for letting me experience the birth of Joesph with you guys, I feel very blest!

Swimming!!

On Friday we were able to going swimming with Jonathan's school (one last hurrah, before the new company takes over!). I went with Jonathan and Sarah by myself and that was very hard cause Sarah just didn't like it(I could but her down or anything she just put her head on my shoulder) I don't think that she liked the temperature of the pool and all the spraying water. But Jonathan wanted to go all over! We had fun all in all!

It's finally coming!!!

Our sweet Sarah is finally starting to take her first steps!!! She turned 17 months this past week, and this past week was the first time I could see it in Sarah's eyes that she really wanted to walk. And with that she has finally taken her first steps. It started when Daddy got back from work and Jonathan ran out yelling Daddy Daddy; and Sarah wanted to also. So she tried to stand and then she lost her balance and then fell backwards and hit her head. Poor girl, but I was so excited that she actually wanted to stand and walk on her own. So we came in and Dave and I sat a little ways from each other and she actually took steps between us!!! This was VERY exciting because I have tried to do this with her many of times but she was determined that is not what she wanted to do. Well, we got a little cute video of cute Sarah. One thing I love is you can tell that Jonathan is such a good big brother; he wanted to be on the catching side and was so cute at talking to her! Its coming!

The Zoo

We have been wanting to go to the Zoo for awhile and we have finally made time and went together as a family! It was a lot of fun!

Jonathan was in Heaven, I never doubted that! He loves animals, But a few times he told me he was scared and I had to reassure him that they were behind fences and in cages that he was safe! He loved to way and say hi to the animals.

I really didn't thin that Sarah would really be that into the Zoo, but she LOVED the animals. She would point and squeal every time that she found the animal. It was so cute to watch!

This Tiger was one of my favorite animals there!
We went to an elephant show, and we got up close and personal to the giraffe (which I am trying to put below).
We all really enjoyed the Zoo! It was hot, but there was lots of shade and water to drink! Jonathan and I were able to pet a snake (I think that Jonathan was more brave then I) Jonathan really liked the elephants and the giraffe. Sarah loved everything she could see, I really think she wished she could walk!! But today well we were having a picnic in the Zoo she was sitting on my lap and standing on all her own, time and time again!
Well, at the end of the day we ran into one of Dave's school friends that is a Zoo keeper (or something to that effect). It was awesome, she let us feed the giraffe. Which I think was the best part!! Then after she told us that we could go and me a penguin that was raise by humans from day three and she is very friendly! Well, we went in the back of the penguin area and as you can see from Jonathan's face he as terrified to be that close. However, Sarah wanted to get up close and pet it! Well, it is a little snippy and liked Sarah's shirt but she didn't get Sarah! But, she did snip Dave but she said it was like a little pinch! It was cool, I just love how they walk!

By the end, we went on a short train ride and Jonathan LOVED it!
Feeding the Giraffe!

My thoughts

Today I went for a run (rather a jog, I was just enjoying thinking and listening). I am thinking bout doing one last tri before the season is done. Well, Dave downloaded the Henry B Erying book on his Zune for me. It has been really nice think about what he is saying and have time to ponder. As I was pondering I came upon thinking about my calling. I am in the nursery, which is good and bad at the same time. It is very nice because Sarah is not 18 months yet and we would be just out in the halls cause she wouldn't be able to sit the entire time. But, it is hard cause I feel that at church I want to enjoy and be filled with the spirit. But I am lucky to be able to really listen in sacrament and then we go straight into nursery. It makes it hard to get my spiritual fill. I am been struggling with it, but as I have pondered about this I have felt that I should sign up for an institute class in the fall to help me get spiritually filled. In lessons in nursery I try to bear my testimony so if I m the only that feels the spirit of my testimony then that is okay. Well, listening to Pres Erying he talked about his amazing Dad that had bone cancer and how he was pulling weeds for the Lord (there is a long story a long with it that I won't repeat). But it made me think that I am in the Lords errand in the nursery, if that is where he needs me I am doing for him. Although it is hard to not get a break and be spiritually feed, I will pull the weeds for him!
This summer is going so fast I just can't believe it. I feel that I have so many things to do, with the house and plus normal life and piano. Piano continues for me during the summer, and I have made goal for the next recital to memorize my next piece which will be very challenging but I think I need to do it. In theory this last week, i finally figured out how to figure out the V7 cord, which my teacher has been trying to teach me but it just hasn't clicked. However I finally figured it out on my own and showed my teacher and I was so excited for myself (It was a little thing)
As we are almost done with school in December, and it has became very stressful for us not knowing what the next step will be in our lives! We are trying to step forward with faith but it is HARD. I just want to have a little piece of the puzzle given to me! PATIENCE, I know but once gain that it hard!
Sarah stood for the first time this past week, and that is awesome and exciting for us since tomorrow she will be 17 months! These are some of my thoughts for today being kind of like my journal

4th of July

I just love the 4th of July! I was supposed to originally work, but some way I made it so I got it off! On the way to the balloons I got a little emotional cause I felt so blessed to be with my family on this day! We woke up really early to go see the hot air balloons and since the traffic is crazy we rode our bikes. On the way up we were in a hurry so we broke a sweat!

Sarah loves her tooth brush, it keep her hands away from her hair!

It was so much fun to see the balloons! Jonathan thought it was amazing! Look at his face!

Are cute Sarah bear!

Enjoying the balloons as a family!

After the balloons we went to the parade! Jonathan absolutely loved it! He loved the marching bands the most, he loved the candy!

Waiting for the parade!

A police officer came over and gave out high fives, too bad I wasn't about to caught Jonathan giving him a high five, but he thought it was really cool!

Jonathan wanted to hold onto all his candy!

Dave prepping for the fireworks; she was like little boy in candy shop! (This is the first year since we have been married that we bought fireworks)

I was making a flag cake and I didn't use all the blueberries and Sarah was enjoying them for a snack!

After naps we went to Grammy's and Papa's for dinner and then we played in the backyard!
Sarah just loves when Kaitlyn comes to play!
Then we did fireworks! Jonathan LOVED the Pops, and the firework show that Daddy put on for us! He made cute sounds and sat there almost the entire time! However Sarah didn't like them very well at all! She just rested her head on my shoulder, by the end she got use to it!
It was a great fourth of July, but the end of the day I was exhausted!

This is cute Jonathan during the parade, I think that he might be in marching band!

Old Pictures

These pictures are from my parents camera and I wanted to make sure I got them in my book!
Jonathan only gets Popsicles from Grammy's and Papa's or Grandma and Grandpa! I feel they lack calories so I don't buy them! Jonathan loves them he can eat them in few minutes flat!
Grammy's has been making hats for the girls and she just finished Sarah's this last little while! Aren't they cute!
Although Sarah is not fond of it, but maybe with time!
In Heaven!
Pals
Jonathan loves to be with his cousins! He likes to be big! He was trying to help with a puzzle! But he kept saying snap, and hitting his hand down! Which is a game that they ply lot, it made me laugh!
Sarah just LOVES Lavette, she loves to give her hugs and kisses!

Obeying

The last little while getting Jonathan to go to sleep is a chore! I sometimes thinks that he is the energizer bunny- he can be playing in his room till 9:30 or 10 at night and then be up by 7ish all smiley and happy for the day. This past week hasn't helped because we have been starting to paint the hall and Jonathan wants to know what we are doing and try to look under his door to see us. So last night after our nightly routine. I asked Jonathan how he wanted to put to bed; he choose Daddy. Dave later told me that he asked Jonathan to stay in his bed and play in his bed (while crib we haven't splurged yet to get him a bed). Well, I was looking at things on the computer late around 9ish and I thought I heard a light turn on. And usually Jonathan will get into trouble when that happens, although he has last a lot of big toys from his room cause we found him miss using them! Well, a bit later Dave checks on him to make sure he is safe. Well, our cute boy is in his crib with the light on and reading books with a pile of books around him! He was trying to obey! He is such a cute little boy fun of life! I talk to him a lot about obeying and he likes to yell out obey and then run to where he needs to be, it makes me smile!
