Jonathan and Sarah

Bear Day!
So this past month at PEEP, it was picnic with your bear day. We usually go over to Papa's before PEEP and put Sarah down. Jonathan was just loving bringing his bear around. As you can tell, Jonathan just loves this bear. He sleeps with it every night, alot of times when we check on him his arm is around the bear. It is so cute. Yes, the bear is about as big as he is.
Jonathan's first try t putting his own pants on. More and more Jonathan is declaring his independence, and this last Saturday was one of those times. I was trying to get him dressed and he didn't want to. But then, it soon became apparent that he wanted to put them on himself. I think he did a pretty good job (with a little help from me).
Yes- Sarah is all over the place, and she enjoys the army crawl just like her older brother. She gets where she wants to go! It is so fun to watch her. I thinks she really enjoys it when she is around her cousins!
One of Jonathan's pals! Jonathan has learned to say ABBY. So every morning when we go over to Papa's Jonathan says it over and over again, and then he starts to say Abby. He gets so excited when he see her. They love to run round with each other. Jonathan has started to come up to Abby and he puts his cheek to her face- wanting a kiss. However, Abby isn't sure about that. They love each other.
Sarah also loves Lavette. Sarah got herself over to Lavette, and was loving her tail. Good thing Lavette is patient with them.
One of Jonathan's masterpieces that he made! His hand prints are in there, somewhere!

Jonathan went to Luke nd Lacey B-day party and had so much fun with the parachute. Don't you love Lacey's hair!

Photos I have been waiting for

So here is a sneak peak of our cute kids- there will be more to come, hen I get them tomorrow! So go check it out under Sarah & Jonathan http://www.skyejohansen.com/blog/index.php

Learning

Sarah Bear (Jonathan is learning to say Sarah bear it is way cute- he can say Sarah very well) has learned to pull herself up in the crib. Today when I got home from the gym, I herd some cute sounds coming from kids room. I first thought that it was Jonathan that woke up early and was playing, but no it was Sarah rockin' away in the crib. She was loving it. So yes it is time to drop the crib down! Sarah also scooted the first time this morning I out her in the middle of the nursery and she wanted to get to the trash can that was by the door, and she scooted herself to it. I was so surprised I haven't seen her do it before (however Dave says that she has done it before). So until I see it, she doesn't know how to do it :). Now she is starting to scoot all over- she is in the dinning area right now! My baby is growing so fast!!
Sarah in her Johnny Jumper- she is smiling at the camera (not lovin' it, but tolerating it.)
This past week we moved Sarah into her new car seat. She is doing great in it!
This is Jonathan on this little seahorse. He was just lovin' it. We have had it for awhile but I have never really seen him on it. But, the other day he got on it and loved. He was rockin' so hard I thought he was going to fall backwards. But he didn't it was fun to watch him play!

Thoughts!

Cute as a button!
This is the end product!
Things just keep moving! Yesterday, Kristi, Mom and I canned peaches. We were able to get free peaches from our aunt. So we started canning, Kristi thought we would only get 5 quarts each (split three ways). Well, she was totally wrong we each got about 21 quarts. We spent all afternoon doing, but with a 3 dollar investment and some time. We got lots of peaches for the winter!
This past week we did our floors holliday schedule and let me tell you it was terrible- lots of tears and heated arguments. It was not fun. I'm working Christmas, which I knew I would be, but that's part of being a nurse and working at the hospital (no matter if you are a new nurse or if you have been a nurse for 30 yrs)! I won't go into that anymore, but my manager will!
Can I say again that I love blogs. One of my friends always talks about her sister and her cute baby (so I feel like I know them through her). So I looked at the blog, and her last post was about Elder Bednar coming and visiting their stake conference. She put what he said in her thought, and it was great and very up-lifting and thought provoking! One thing that I got from it was living in the now and being happy (which if any of you know me really well know that is a hard thing for me with school and work for Dave). I have been working on a blessings book, where each night I try to write down my blessings that I have recieved in a day(which I have been slacking on- but i am going to do better)! It can be little things like I'm blessed to have gotten a kiss and hug from my little boy when I got home from work to I am thankful that Dave has a great paying job so that I can only work part time. I think this has really helped me to keep things in perspective and see that Heavenly Father is blessing me each and everyday from small things to little things! But, I have done really good lately in not wishing that Dave was done with school or I was working PRN. I have really just been trying to live in the now and just enjoy my beutiful kids and wonderful husband!! But back to the thought that blogs are great to help each other out and share thoughts!
Biggest Loser is back and I think that it will be a great season! They did the scare factor in the first episode and it sure worked for me. It was an emotional episode for me- I cried. I could feel for this daughter and Father and how this father is so sick cause of his weight! It makes me want to make sure that everyone is working to get to their goal weight! Yes I love reality TV- Dave can attest to that!
Jonathan is doing so good in listening and understanding what I am saying. This morning I needed to go to Checker Auto, on the way there I knew that there wouldn't be any charts. I try not to go any where, where I can't keep Jonathan contained. He has a thing for running off and doing his own thing. So on the way there I explained to him that he needed to be good and stay with me. I got Sarah and then Jonathan out, and gave Jonathan my wallet to carry. He does really good when he has something to be in charge of (he stayed right next to me so the wallet didn't get lost!), He did great he stayed with me and then followed the man when we need to get something. He touched a few things but other then that he stayed by my side I was so proud of him!!
Sarah is just wonderful- she is finding her voice more and just loves to laugh out loud and like to just whisper da da da, she continues to be a joy. I am waiting with baited breath for Sarah pictures on Monday it will be 3 weeks, so any day now!! She is doing so much better with eating it is great! Everything continues to go in her mouth, and she is so good at clamping her mouth shut so I don't get it out!
Dave is doing really good at school and staying on top of everything

Best Buds

Papa and Jonathan are best Buds! Jonathan spent the morning with Papa, they went to breakfast and went and did errands together! He got cookies and candy too! Later today we were with Grammy while Papa was at the game! We were going to go, but we were waiting for Pap so that Jonathan could say good bye. Well, I was bring things out to the car. I told Jonathan that Papa was here, he turned around and got a big grin on his face and started to run for Papa and gave him big hug (it was so precious- bonds that last forever). Then later when we were eating Jonathan was having hard time, I told him that if he changed his attitude and was good that he could go see Papa after his bath. Of course he was good, so Jonathan and I went on a wagon ride to see Papa! Jonathan can never see Papa too much! We love you Papa, we love living so close!

Excitment!

I went to the gym this morning and I m 2 pounds from my goal weight! I hardly ever weight myself cause I get too depressed if I am over what i want to be or think I should be at! So I thought that I would share my excitement!
Another note- My parents and my sister started to make fresh bread (cause of the rise in food prices) and it is so good. It brought me back to the good ol' days, when I made homemade bread for my family every week. Well, when Dave and i got married we got a bread maker. Which I have never used, while this week I got it out and made bread from it. It was great! I love fresh bread! But it was funny cause Dave had never seen a breadmaker and he was so impressed that it did it ll for you! It made me chuckle!

Got to love them!

I was changing the laundry and Sarah just got up from her unsuccessful nap and wanted to be held so I put her in the laundry basket. I thought that she would be appeased with it. While Jonathan thought that it looked like fun so he jumped in to! Don't you love how there expressions are opposite of each other!

This is cute Sarah rockin'!

What's going on

My cute little doll! Sarah is growing so fast I can't believe. I think that she will be crawling in no time! She gets up on her knee and just rocks it is so darn cute ( we missed that stage with Jonathan cause he went straight for the army crawl). She is moving herself all over turning and rolling. Today we were with the cousins and she just wants to be with them. After her nap she was so happy that they were there and that she was at Grammy's. She gave this huge smile! Sarah is on her 4th tooth, the top ones which are actually very painful for her. I am trying to feed Sarah however she hates rice cereal, so we have been moving on to bigger and better- peaches. She just loved them! So pictures got moved back to Monday, so that is the big day!
This is one of my projects that I have been working on this week. In Sarah room I haven't had a dresser and so we have been putting things in basket and under her crib. But I found this awesome site http://www.meckmom.com/ the other day on organization and I just loved it! I hate when things are totally messy! She had some awesome solutions!
This is my little spit fire! So Jonathan found this sweater that I was trying to pack away cause it is getting too small (6 months). But he found it and wanted me to put it on. So I did, and it of course fit. He wore it all day in the blazing heat! That's what he wanted!! Jonathan is doing alot better, in Peep this last week we combined with the younger class for singing time and Jonathan was one of the oldest there. And he did so awesome with the songs and signing and doing what they told him. I could defiantly see some growth from him. Six months ago he was were these other kids were. It was a blessing in my eyes to see that he is learning and doing better. His attention span is getting better and his words are just exploding. I love it. I think that Sarah is helping Jonathan in so many different ways. I think there is a reason my Sarah needed to come right now!
I have been off work all week, which has been so nice! I have been busy with working on a smocked dress for Sarah (well during naps and night time). It is a new skill that I am learning. The dress is pale pink, its not prefect but I am learning (if you don't know I am a perfectionist when I make things). When I finish it I will post it. I want to already make another one, so that I can get better. Dave started school this week, and so far it looks okay. However, we haven't got into any of the papers that he will have to do!

Makes me Laugh

I don't have any pictures for these cute stories, but I thought I would written them down so I wouldn't forget them. Yesterday Jonathan just made me laugh!
I was cleaning my shower yesterday during naps. Jonathan woke up early, and instead of crying he would just say "Mama" over and ever again. I just can't leave him in his crib every time that he does this- it just too cute to me. So I though I would just give him his snack and then finish the shower while he was eating. I snapped one of the clips to try to keep him in his booster seat and gave him his snack. Then I was finishing the shower. I could hear him saying "Mama" over and over and then it stopped, I thought to myself I better check on him. A minute later he comes in the bathroom with the biggest grin. He got him self out of the booster and climbed down and found me! It just made me laugh to myself- he is so clever!
Later on I was fixing dinner and Jonathan wasn't listen to me. So he went into time out multiple times (he goes in his crib). One time I walk in to get him and he had thrown out all his blankets and was folding his arms and bowing his head and mumbling like he was praying. I walked in and I said "were you praying that I would come and get you" and he said a big yesss like he does. I just checked to myself!
After dinner, I got Sarah ready for bed. Dave was still at work, and I was nursing Sarah. My phone was ring and I knew it was Dave calling. I could get up at that point. The first time it rang Jonathan stopped what he was doing and started to dance to the phone tone. The next time, Jonathan danced and then tried to find it, and then the third time I told Jonathan that it was on the counter. At this point I could get up, but Jonathan wanted to get it. So he hurried and boosted himself on the chair and then on the counter (needless to say I hadn't cleaned up from dinner so it was a mess) and got the phone before I could- he was very proud of himself!
Jonathan makes the mundane things of life great! He is one of my many blessings!

Family Pictures

Our Little Kids
Grandkids!
Still in Love!
Cousins- Matchy Matchy!

Don't you love how Jonathan is so happy!
When Jeff and Marcie were in town we took family pictures, which was few weeks ago!

Whats going on!

Eating!
Enjoying my Popsicle!
Playin' in the pool with Austin
Worn out from long day!
Our wonderful kids!
Well, it has been a while since I have posted! It seems that a lot of our extra time is sucked up withe the Olympics! We love watching all the different sports! Yes, I think that Micheal Phelps is amazing! I loved watching gymnastics, swimming, the women's marathon, the women's tri, and all the track event this far. I can say that I love when someone stand for what they believe in and you can see it through there actions. Dave was watching the women's basketball and they were talking about these two women that weren't dressed on the New Zealand team because they don't play on Sunday! Way too go!

Well, Sarah is just growing so much! She is now sitting and doing better and better each day! I know that she loves being upright! She has started on cereal and she is doing a lot better since I have sweeten it up (thanks Kristi). She continues to be chunk, however she is in the 83 percentile now! She continues to love her brother and puts up with all his wrestling that he wants to d with her! She said her first word week or so ago Dada!! It was so cute she has said it twice! She is such a happy girl!

Jonathan is starting to climb again. He likes to climb up the changing table when I'm changing Sarah's diaper. He knows how to open the front door- he has only escaped once! Dave was at Scout camp last week and Jonathan kept asking where Daddy was, I tried to explain to him. But he just didn't get it! He was way excited to have Daddy home! Jonathan's words are just exploding, at least it seems to me. He is starting to use more words theses days. I still at times don't know what he is saying, but it is starting to come! Jonathan loves to wear his hat when ever we go somewhere. He loves his Papa and loves to go visit, he likes to go over to Papa and Grammys house daily! Jonathan is starting to be a real helper. He loves to help me with putting laundry in the dirty clothes, or putting dishes away, cleaning the windows- basically whatever I am doing (he helps as much as a almost 2 yr can- which is ok cause I love his eagerness). Jonathan is a curious little boy that is always on the move!

Like I said before Dave went to Scout camp this past week! He enjoyed going camping and learning knew skills and putting up with 12 and 13 yr old boys (which he does pretty good with). Dave's not looking forward to summer ending and starting school once again (I think he hates losing his free time), but he knows that it is closer to finishing.

I am survived without Dave, yes the kids went to bed at 7 pm. So I could have some alone time! However, both Sarah and Jonathan were very good! I am looking forward to getting Sarah's pictures taken professionally this next week. I worked extra so that we could do it! I will post the pictures once they come back!

My thoughts!

So I was thinking how much Dave has grown and changed for the better since we have had children. Yesterday I had to work, so that means that gets to get the kids ready and go to church by himself, which I can attest that it is not an easy task. But, yesterday I got a call from Dave at 6:30 am to tell me about what just happen with Jonathan and a diaper mishap. How he had to change his clothes and diaper cause he had pee all over and that he was freezing cause he was all wet (besides that fact that he doesn't have any body fat). He was just informing me not complaining! Then we had a family get together and we were supposed to bring a dessert. Dave usually just makes the Brownies from box. But, he had told me when he brought Sarah to feed that he was going to make lemon bars. I can say that I was a little nervous. But, when I got home from work that was the first thing that I tried and they were great. I was very proud of Dave and I know he was proud of himself! I can see that I have changed also for the better also! I know that Dave is trying to be the husband and father with everything that he has on his plate! I love you Dave!

Our little Alien!

Our Jonathan is such character! He makes me laugh! We were at Grammy's and Jonathan wanted to put these on! He was so cute that I took a few pictures! Jonathan got this rash all over his body, but now it is gone! Which I am thankful for! We continue to try to figure out how to get Jonathan to eat! The PEEP lady came that specializes in eating some to try to help with Jonathan. I have been to trying to do what she says and the tips that she gives us. But to no avail- Jonathan just doesn't eat like you would think a growing little boy should! I am getting very frustrated not knowing what to do!!!! But, I have been praying and hoping that something will come to me. She has sent us to to see the food and nutrition clinic at primaries- which I hope they can shed some light on the situation. But in the mean time we, we are trying some other things to try and stretch his tummy!! Wish me luck or best yet keep me in your prayers to be patient!

Sarah

Our Happy girl!
Sarah trying to entertain herself!
I am a big girl Mom, no more baby toys for me!
We always find Sarah in the funniest positions when she is sleeping! I think that this picture is just so precious, sleeping on top of her dolly!
Sarah is growing up so much! Yesterday, she she started to get her first tooth and she is doing great (no crying or anything out of the usual). Sarah is done with the swing. I put Sarah in the swing twice today and both time I found her trying to play with the bouncy seat and then I decided to put he in the bouncy chair. The next time I see her, she is sitting up trying to get the plastic container. So I having trying to work on sitting and she is doing pretty good, she is just a little tipsy! She is so cute in her bumpo! I love it! Sarah has scudded back once, and she just loves to fail her arms and pat her self, esp when she gets excited! She is so much fun!

Happy Birthday Sweety!

Dave's birthday was on Tuesday! I woke Dave up with a breakfast in bed- yummy waffles, strawberries and whip cream! It was so good and filling! We went on a family bike ride! Then in the afternoon, we got our normal babysitter (side note- it is our next door neighbor and she asked me if her little sister could come to-she is 10 yrs old- cause she said that her sister adores our kids, I thought it was kind of funny). Then we went to the movies Dave and I! When we came back, I made this ice cream cake for Dave. I like to do ice cream cakes it is so hot this time of year! I then surprised Dave with his Birthday gift- usually he either knows what I am getting him or he figures it out. But this year he s completely surprised, I bought him a speaker he can put his zune in. He loved it! I got it off woot for rocken awesome deal! I tried to make this day special for Dave, I think that he was very pleased! Happy Birthday sweety, I love you!

Jonathan's First Haircut!

The before!

The after!

So I have been holding out to cut Jonathan's hair, just cause I just don't want him to grow up. But, after coming home from Sister's weekend and seeing his hair all over. I knew that it was time! Well, Dave and I cut his hair! He did great at first. But it took longer then he thought it should take and he was of course done! But his hair was so thin that it was hard to cut! But, we did and as you can see he is a happy boy with a sucker in his mouth! Jonathan looks so different to me. He looks like a little boy!
