The next day was Saturday which we slept in and enjoyed a yummy breakfast that Cheryl made for us and then we got ready and packed a lunch and headed to Monticello that was about 15ish minutes away. We were able to get into a Family Friendly tour of the estate and the tour guide was really good at what he did and it was very interesting. After we did some kid friendly activities and looked around the kitchen area where the higher help cooked. Then we headed back down the mountain to have lunch. We then went to a little museum and then went back up the mountain to a tour about slavery...which was very interesting. The little boys played around during this time. Then we walked around the garden area and to Thomas Jefferson's grave. Everyone did very well and we enjoyed having Aunt Cheryl come with us! That night we enjoyed dinner together and then we got up and got ready for the church and headed to church and then to Candace's and Kenneth house to stay and be with them. |
