You look SO PRETTY Shirlene! You always look great, of course, but I think this is the fittest, prettiest you have looked! I love your hair, it is so flattering and your hair is so great that way and you just look so happy! Your whole little family looks great too it looks like they did great for pictures. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that is different but you look different in these pictures than in ones in the past, you look really good!
My favorite is the sepia picture of you and Dave. I think it might be your clothes coupled with the new hot post-baby body! lol I think that sweater hits your waist at just the right point and emphasizes the tininess! I have been thinking hard and I think that's what it is! It is just very flattering. Good job on clothes and working so hard on running, you are doing a great job!
Welcome the task that makes you go beyond yourself, and you will grow! Julie B Beck
Our Growing Family

"The biggest mistake I made as a parent is the one that most of us make. . .I did not live in the moment. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get to the next thing. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less.”
Anna Quindlen
"Being There [is] an emotional and spiritual shift, of succumbing to Being Where You Are When You Are, and Being There as much as possible. Its about crouching on the floor and getting delirious over the praying mantis your son just caught instead of perusing a fax or filling the dishwasher while he is yelling for your attention and you distractedly say over your shoulder: 'Oh, honey, isn’t that a pretty bug.' It’s about being attuned enough to notice when your kid’s eyes shine so you can make your eyes shine back.” Iris Krasnow

Just when all seems to be going right, challenges often come in multiple doses simultaneously. When those trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more (see proverbs 3:11-12). He therefore gives you experiences that stimulate growth, understanding, and compassion which polish you for your everlasting benefit. To get you from where you are to where He wants you to be requires a lot of stretching, and that generally entails discomfort and pain . . . Your Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son love you perfectly. They would not require you to experience a moment more of difficulty than is absolutely needed for your personal benefit or for that of those you love.

Just Be
Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle!
Marjorie Hinckley
True success in this life comes in consecrating our lives— that is, our time and choices—to God’s purposes (see John 17:1, 4; D&C 19:19). In so doing, we permit Him to raise us to our highest destiny. Elder D. Todd Christofferson
We BECOME what we want to BE by consistently BEING what we want to BECOME each day. Righteous character is a precious manifestation of what you are becoming. Righteous character is more valuable than any material object you own, any knowledge you have gained through study or any goals you have attained no matter how well lauded by mankind. In the next life your righteous character will be evaluated to assess how wll you used the privilege of mortality.
