Our Future Missionary!
I have been feeling that Jonathan should start looking like a missionary, since recently he has been talking a lot about going on a mission when he is BIG!

What I have been up to!
So I have been working on the blanket and carseat cover since Gordon was born, and Kristi made this cute Diaper bag!
Random things we have been up too!
Here is some random pictures of what we have been up to!
Dave has been trying to get more fit, so he was doing some push ups and Sarah wanted to do it with him I thought it was cute!
Doing sits like Daddy!

My cute boys!
Lacey was my little help last Wednesday! With six kids and a baby it sure makes things crazy, Gordon was crying, trying to clean up dinner and still needed to eat dinner. But Lacey to the rescue she sat their with Gordon while the other kids played!
Cute Gordon! He is in such a cute stage- cooing and starting to hit things on the bouncer, starting to entertain himself and not just fall asleep. He is such a good baby! I love when he talks to Dave or I. He has also found his thumb/hand more. Today during one of his tummy time session he just laid there and sucked one his thumb for a good 10 minutes!

Seeing improvement
So I have been reading the parenting book at night and it has some really great ideas and helps me to understand why Sarah acts certain ways and how to deal with it, and coping strategies for me to handle things myself.
Today I was reflecting that the last few days have seem to be getting better. In the book they talk about sleep and to protect it. Well, Sarah was lucky to get maybe 10 hours of sleep a day and she needs at least 12-13 hours. Well, she has started to sleep in the spare bedroom, which is really good for her. She thinks that it is a privilege and there isn't any toys to play with or brother to talk to and play with and usually she would do all that and then keep herself wake by singing or talking to herself. With being by herself she just has to lay there and talk to herself and the last few days she has gotten about 12ish hours of sleep a night (maybe a little less). But it has made a big difference in her mood. Also they talk about just having time alone and this week she will lay in the spare bedroom and lay quietly and then play in Jonathan and her room for another hour. It has also helped Sarah to calm down and relax and not have stimuli for a bit. I have also been concentrating on talking to Sarah about her feelings and emotions when she is very intense, which helps me and hopefully helps her to understand maybe what she is feeling- also getting down on her level. Sarah takes her time getting ready and there really isn't hurry her up. So this morning we had an early appointment to get somewhere at 9:30 and had to leave about 9:15- I let her know we where needed to get ready to go and that she needed to finishes her breakfast. In the past I would have just said you took to long (since this was your second bowl) and scooted her along. But I got everyone in the car and everything I needed and then she was finally finished and she seemed happier that she was ready now.

I feel that as I take a special effort with my Sarah that she is able be happier and express herself better- and I can understand her better. Like yesterday she needed to wear a wrist band at the museum we were at and right when she put it on, she wanted it off. She is very sensitive to to tight things on her body, I talked to her about it and why she needed it and why she might have not liked wearing it. Well, by the end of the time there she was very persistent and she was able to get it off. In the past I would have been frustrated, but now understanding her personality- I was able to just laugh and have understanding. I am thankful for learning to try to be a better parent, which is a continual process

Smiles all around!
We have thought that maybe there has been smiles from Gordon, but it was official until March 10, 2011 (6 weeks old). Dave was holding him and talking to him- and I was able to capture it on the camera! It is so much fun I love trying to get a smile out of him! The next day he gave me lots of smiles! What a fun stage!

Brothers!
Napping so contently on the couch! Gordon loves to cuddle and fall asleep! He is wearing this cute sleeper that Jonathan wore at a least 2 1/2 months and he is 5 weeks in it!

Ready to go to church! Gordon is controlling his throwing up and hasn't thrown up in a long time! I love that, and his bowels are starting to regulate and we don't seem to have as many blow outs and stains on clothes! Gordon is sleeping a good 6-7 hours at night, which I of course love. But it just depends on the night, some are not great but overall they are! Gordon is so patent and has such a calm spirit. He does great having Jonathan or Sarah hold him, even though he is not held that great. We went to the movies the other night and Gordon did great he didn't cry and slept through most of it. Dave was leery about taking him cause with Jonathan we tried and he cried most of the time! What a difference the noise and a third children makes!
Such a proud sister! Sarah is such a great helper! So loves to do anything to help me or Gordon out. She loves to hold Gordon! We went to the park this past week and Sarah wanted to push the stroller all the way to the park. She also loves to push the cart at the grocery store! She loves to help me bake along with Jonathan. Sarah loves to get her hair done and sit on the bathroom counter and get moose put in it! Sarah loves to play with Jonathan during quiet time, and hates to take a nap even though she might need one! Sarah is very much of a spirited child and disciplining her is so different then Jonathan. Jonathan we did the love and logic thing and it worked great for him but not for Sarah. It has been frustrating at times not knowing what to do. I have been given advice that I don't approve of and it does teach what I want to teach. I have been praying what to do and to see her as the Savior does at the difficult times. I remember this book that a friend of mine talked about in a blog and it is called raising the spirited child. Right now it is talking about eliminating the negative labels and putting positive ones in place. It is nice to know that I am not the only parent to have such a "spirited" child and go through some of the things that I do! Recently, I have noticed that Sarah is laughing more and squealing in delight- which I love to see! Sarah loves to give kisses and loves to her brother! Sarah loves to wear her pjs and LOVES to pick out what she wears for the day and just LOVES LOVES shoes/boots. Sarah loves to play with her cousins! She would rather be inside than outside; but it is nice that it is getting warmer! Sarah is getting better at eating her vegetables, which is a great thing! Sarah loves to have Jonathan drop her off at nursery and she loves to show us what she made in nursery- it is so much fun! We love our Sarah bear and love to see her grow!
Look at that smile! Jonathan is learning and growing so much! The first thing he asks everyday when he wakes up (no joke) is "What are we doing today?"He LOVES to play hide and go seek with Dave. It is fun to watch cause he has a hard time staying in his hiding spot if not found right away! He squeals in delight when he does get found! Jonathan loves to play with kids. If Jonathan had his way he would love to play with someone different new everyday. Jonathan couldn't wait for the time that Mommy could handle having extra kids over. Well, the day finally came and yesterday Luke,Lacey, and Abby came over to play! Jonathan was in HEAVEN. Jonathan delights in learning! He loves to look at books and now he can pick out the letter A he loves to do that! He loves to be read to. We have started back having preschool and he just loves to learn different things. I have been working on m,a, and t with Jonathan and he is starting to really get them. Colors he has a hard time with red and blue so I started to really concentrate on red and he is starting to get it also. Jonathan always has really good questions to ask, and sometimes I don't think that he is listening and he is! Jonathan is great at doing his responsibilities in the morning so he can watch Dora or Diego. Jonathan is great at setting the table and putting away dishes. Jonathan is trying to learn to be more modest and is not taking baths with Sarah anymore and is very sad about that! Jonathan loves his vegetables and loves to say that we got it from bountiful baskets. Jonathan is very observant and loves to have Daddy home to eat dinner with since he works another job at night we don't get to get dinner with him as much as we would like! Jonathan enjoys holding Gordon for a short time; Gordon smiled at him and he just kept saying that Gordon loves him. Jonathan will say things out of the blue. Yesterday, on the way home from doing errands Gordon was crying so we were singing to him. We started to sing the missionary song, and after we were done. Jonathan said "I'm going to be a missionary when I get big". I asked him where he would like to go? He said that he was going to teach like the home teachers. I said that was right! He is such a smart boy. We got new library books yesterday and Sarah and Jonathan love to look at them before I read them. Dave was reading one that I hadn't read yet and Jonathan knew what it was talking about by looking at the pictures and Dave was sure that I had read them to him. Jonathan is so much fun!
